Soundarya was a celebrated Indian actress and producer known for her work in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi films. She was born as Sowmya Sathyanarayana on July 18, 1972, in Mulbagilu, Karnataka.
Coming from a film family, Soundarya initially pursued medical studies but left them after her debut film Gandharva (1992) became successful. She went on to star in over 100 films and was widely regarded as one of the greatest actresses in Telugu cinema.
Some of her notable films include Ammoru, Anthapuram, Raja, and the Hindi film Sooryavansham. She was acclaimed for her versatile acting and won several prestigious awards throughout her career.
Soundarya married G.S. Raghu in 2003. Tragically, she passed away in a plane crash on April 17, 2004, while she was seven months pregnant. Her untimely death was a great loss to Indian cinema.
